The Michigan Local Food Council Network offered small seed grants in 2017, to help build capacity in new and existing councils. The seed grants have aided six existing councils continue and strengthen their work and six new councils form and catalyze their work. This has also led to broader participation in the network; the increased opportunity for partnership and co-learning benefits all members.
