On January 6, 2021, the Johns Hopkins Center for a Livable Future’s Food Policy Networks project hosted part 1 of a two-part event to offered food policy council members a space for silence and reflection on the impact of 2020 on our communities and food systems. Participants listened to the experiences from three food policy council leaders from different areas of the US about their response to the events of 2020: Tamara Downs Schwei, Local Food Policy Coordinator, Homegrown Minneapolis; Elisa Muñoz-Miller, Executive Director, New Orleans Food Policy Advisory Committee; Jesse Padron, Chair, Oneida Community Integrated Food Systems. Participants were invited to share their experiences during the event. Karen A. Spiller, Principal, KAS Consulting moderated the conversation.
