Baltimore Food System Resilience Advisory Report (2017)

By Erin Biehl, Sarah Buzogany, Alice Huang, Gwen Chodur, Roni Neff

This 2017 report assesses the Baltimore food system’s strengths and weaknesses related to resilience and recommends strategies for protecting the system against threats that would increase food insecurity in both short-term and long-term crises. The framework used to assess resilience in Baltimore’s food system can be a guide for other city planners or food system advocates working to support food security in the face of natural and human-made disasters. Appendix A of the report provides a summary and listing of other city and county food plans, primarily from North America, that relate to resilience.
