Meet Our Tutors

Writing Center tutors are enrolled in various degree programs at the Bloomberg School. They have completed a rigorous training process and are eager to assist BSPH students.

Meet the Summer 2024 tutors below!

Brandon Gorodokin, Writing Center Coordinator and Tutor

Brandon Gorodokin

Writing Center Coordinator

I am a second year ScM student in the Department of Biochemistry and Molecular Biology (BMB). I studied Biology and Computer Science as an undergrad at NYU, where I also worked as a Writing Tutor, and I am excited to assist the Writing Center as Coordinator. I specialize in bringing out the unique voice of the writer in argumentative writing and research papers, but I'm excited to assist with all kinds of writing projects.

Fun fact: I'm a D&D Dungeon master, a competitive Smash Brothers player, and an avid fan of Star Wars, Pokemon, and Halo.

I am a second year DrPH student in the Women’s and Reproductive Health concentration and I hold my MPH in Global Health from the University of Maryland, School of Medicine. I am a Program Optimization Officer at the Elizabeth Glaser Pediatric AIDS Foundation where I support programs to strengthen the quality of HIV-related services offered to children, mothers, and families in Sub-Saharan African countries. I specialize in technical writing for global health audiences and enjoy coaching changemakers to translate their ideas and messages into writing.

Fun Fact: I visited two new countries this year.

Odia Kane, Writing Center Tutor

Odia Kane

Tutor

I am a fourth year PhD student studying Health Policy and Management with a concentration in bioethics. I previously worked as a Writing Tutor at the University of Connecticut for four years. My tutor philosophy is rooted in assisting writers with their confidence, clarity, and concision on any writing project.

Fun Fact: I did Model United Nations for five years because my friends and I snuck on a high school team in the 8th grade!

Elizabeth (Liz) Sharp, Tutor

Elizabeth Sharp

Tutor

I am a second year MHS student in the Department of Epidemiology following the Cancer Epidemiology track. I graduated with a bachelor's in biology and anthropology from St. Mary's College of Maryland, where I was a writing tutor for the majority of my undergraduate career. I specialize in editing and assisting with several different writing forms, and I look forward to continuing tutoring at the Bloomberg School!

Fun Fact: I love to travel around the world and hike in the places I've traveled to.
